Kids are so busy these days and there's no better way for them to stay grounded, then with yoga. Yoga allows them to feel free to express themselves through breath and poses, allowing them to feel their emotions and be in tuned with their bodies. There are so many after school activities for kids to choose from, but yoga is the only one that allows them to actually be still and take time to relax. Kids often ask me when it is time to lay down or what adults may call it, "shavasana." They ask because their bodies need it.
Yoga has grown in popularity and most of the kids parents I teach, take classes. They are now understanding how important it is to start this habit with their own children. The benefits are endless, so why not introduce it to your own kids? When it's time to sign your child up for another activity, think twice and maybe have them try some yoga instead. You'd be surprised on how well they adapt. Keeping yoga classes fast pace and always fun, kids stay engaged. Learning how to become more confident, stay mindful, stretch their muscles, and most importantly...just breathe.
