Cropsey Community Farm CSA

By Gentry Schany, Publisher, Macaroni Kid New City-Nyack May 1, 2017

My family had the pleasure of joining the folks at Cropsey Community Farm in New City on Sunday, April 23 to celebrate Earth Day. We were treated to a personal tour of the farm, nature-inspired craft-making, and a petting zoo of baby chickens, ducks, and geese. I'm still surprised that my kids didn't try to smuggle one of those cuties back home!

We learned about the farm's CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, program, and I wanted to pass along the information to you. The Rockland Farm Alliance CSA runs from May through November and provides its members 25 weekly baskets of organic, biodynamically grown produce, herbs, or flowers grown at Cropsey Community Farm. CSA members also receive free access to a year-round program of nutritional and growing workshops.

There are several levels of CSA memberships available and you may split a share with a friend. You can even purchase a work share for a lower price and get your hands dirty! There are several pick up locations available, including Cropsey Community Farm in New City, Hungry Hollow Co-op in Chestnut Ridge, Nyack Farmers Market in Nyack, and Valley Cottage Library in Valley Cottage.
