"Centennial Casting," a comedy penned by Gino DiIorio and Nancy Bleemer, is presented by the Penguin Rep Theatre, headed by Joe Brancato, the founding Artistic Director, and Andrew M. Horn, the Executive Director. The production opened on Friday, June 14, in Stony Point, New York, promising an evening filled with humor and heart. Audiences can expect a delightful blend of wit and charm as the characters navigate their humorous predicaments. The show runs through the end of June, offering multiple opportunities for theatergoers to enjoy this engaging performance.

It is an intriguing tale of love, humor, and mistaken identity that stands out in "Centennial Casting." The narrative follows Vincent DiDonato and his colleagues, who unexpectedly find themselves in possession of a stack of headshots from actors who have mistaken their metal casting workshop for a theatrical casting agency. It is in this unusual situation that a hilarious romantic adventure unfolds with unexpected twists and turns.

It is a pleasure to watch the cast deliver performances that are not only memorable but also captivating under the expert direction of Mr. Brancato. A perfect blend of charm and wit defines Coryn Carson's performance as Michele (Regional: Like No One's Watching). A captivating and nuanced portrayal of Edie is provided by Grace Experience (NY: Grounded. Regional: Some People Hear Thunder, Midwives). Providing Vincent with a seamless balance of humor and emotional depth (Off-Broadway: Arcadia, Winter's Tale, Hedda Gabler), Mike Labbadia brings to life his character in a seamless manner. With his flawless comedic timing and presence, Joshua Morgan brings layers of depth and humor to his portrayal of Carmine (Broadway: Ain't Too Proud, Les Miserables), while Bill Phillips as Doo-Doo delivers a memorable scene (Penguin: After, The Savannah Disputation).

It was a pleasure to attend the performance on Saturday, June 15. From the very first curtain rise until the very last bow, the experience was utterly delightful. An extraordinary series of events is narrated in this heartwarming story that keeps the audience thoroughly engaged and entertained. The chemistry between the cast members was undeniable, creating a dynamic that was both believable and enchanting. The comedic elements were expertly interwoven with touching, heartfelt moments, striking a balance that resonated deeply with the audience. Adding to the story's charm and allure, the play shows how sparks can ignite in the most unlikely of places.

'Centennial Casting' is more than just a comedy; it's a celebration of the unpredictability of life and love. The play's well-crafted scenes evoke both laughter and introspection, exploring each character's journey with thoughtfulness. The direction, acting, and production elements come together to create a theatrical experience that is both joyous and reflective, inspiring us to embrace the unexpected in life and love.
