Please click on the link on the RIGHT side of the screen to read about some great camps in our area. It's that time of year -- get the kids registered for CAMP! We're added information about local Vacation Bible Schools and some great summer related articles to help you out.

We are currently working on a Birthday party guide for our area -- if you know of a great place to host a party or of an amazing talent for a birthday -- please email us so we can add it in!

Saturday, May 19 - Jr Jr Congregation (Kids Shabbat)

Join us each and every Shabbat during the school year for a kid friendly Shabbat program led by our veteran Pre-School teacher and educator, Marilyn Soffer. Jr. Jr. kids have a chance to sing Shabbat songs, talk about the Torah portion, eat a tasty Shabbat snack and then come into the main sanctuary where they lead the congregation in Adon Olam. While parents can join their kids, this is a kids’ congregation, and they run the show!

Nyack celebrates the 4th Annual African American Day at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12th with a parade down Main Street and is followed by a multi-cultural festival in Memorial Park. New York R&B radio station WBLS will provide music and entertainment.

Join us for a healthy morning of fresh air, fitness and fun with friends and family. Dust off your bike, lace up your walking or running shoes, or just come to support your friends. After the races end at 12pm, stay for an afternoon of FREE family fun for kids and adults of all ages. BBQ, Inflatable Obstacle course, Woodmont Day Camp’s Clown, face-painting, games and more! Unless conditions are too hazardous, the event will take place rain or shine. PLUS ... Join us at 16 Handles from 4-7pm!! Proceeds from registration and sponsors will support NCJC Youth Programming.

She was born with a heart problem though, so Colleen and her husband are flying her out to Stanford, California to the only surgeon that was willing and able to perform the necessary surgery to repair her heart. Bananas Foster French Toast


The perfect sweet treat to make for a special mom on Mother's Day!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoon vanilla extract - divided
8 slices whole grain bread bread
2 bananas, sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 tablespoon dark rum or rum extract - optional
powdered sugar

Crunchy french toast fresh strawberries and cream cheese, make a great treat for any mom on Mother's Day!

Ingredients:
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 slices cinnamon raisin bread
2 cups crushed cereal flakes (corn, bran, etc) - We used Kashi 7 Whole Grain Flakes
1 cup whipped cream cheese
1 cup diced fresh strawberries
2 tsp powdered sugar

  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
