Kalahari Resorts and Conventions

"Where Small Details are ALWAYS a Big Deal"

By Enjoli Joseph, Co-Publisher of New City-Nyack Macaroni Kid August 27, 2015
My family and I love the summer, as it brings the anticipated visits of our favorite places: WATERPARKS!! Yes, we are self-proclaimed water-park-junkies! So when the opportunity to visit the newly opened African-themed Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Pennsylvania presented itself, we were beyond thrilled!

Being Pennsylvania's largest indoor waterpark (100,000 sq.feet), we were excited to see all that Kalahari Resorts and Conventions had to offer! The indoor waterpark includes a lazy river, a section PERFECT for infants and toddlers (my son is 3), a section for older kids (my daughter is 8), tube rides for the thrill-seekers, and adults only areas (equipped with a bar!). Kalahari truly has something for everyone!! For those of you who need to be in the sun, don't fret, there is a huge outdoor pool, complete with a sundeck for relaxing, indoor/outdoor whirlpools and a swim-up bar.

The 30,000 sq. ft. Family Entertainment is nothing short of spectacular! There are plenty of dry activities, including mini-bowling, cutting-edge arcade games, a 5-D Theatre, black light mini golf and more! With the Entertainment Center opening at 8AM and closing at 11PM, this is a hot spot for everyone of all ages!

We have never stayed overnight at a waterpark before, but we are sure glad that we did! To be able to go back and forth between the waterpark and our rooms really allowed us time to take in all we wanted. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious! We love how the room numbers are indicated by miniature Africas!

We appreciated the small details that Kalahari Resorts and Conventions thought about that REALLY made a BIG difference:

  • Kalahari not only had free Wi-Fi but FAST Wi-Fi! (We have been to places where the Wi-Fi was free but slow as molasses.)
  • The water at the waterpark was the PERFECT temperature, regardless of the time of day. (Who wants to be in ice cold water, even on a 90 degree day?)
  • There is a machine in the bathrooms (in the waterpark) that wring out your clothes!! (My husband thought this was sooo cool! I have to agree!)
  • There is a hanging line in the bathroom of your room to further dry your clothes out!
  • No need to keep track of your room key. Just make sure you and your party have your bracelets on - they open the room door and let you into the waterpark! (The kids thought this was really cool and loved letting themselves in.)
  • There is automatic room checkout at 11AM!
  • There are PLENTY of food options to choose from and an amazing place to get ice cream after your final dip in the waterpark for the day! Yum!
Ground has already broken on Phase II of the project, which is going to include an expansion of both the indoor and outdoor waterparks and the number of guestrooms! We can't wait to see the expansion when the job is complete!

We had SUCH an enjoyable time that we are planning a visit back to Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the near future! So, when we left, we did not say goodbye, but "see you soon!"

There is still time for YOU to book your visit TODAY: http://www.kalahariresorts.com/pennsylvania (Be sure to tell them New City-Nyack Macaroni Kid sent you!)
